A animação Kung Fu Panda que liderou, com 17 indicações, a disputa na 36ª edição dos prêmios Annie foi o grande vencedor deste ano. A animação levou 10 estatuetas, batendo o recorde do ano passado de Ratatouille, que levou 9.
O curta de 24 minutos Secrets of the Furious Love, que aparece no DVD do grande vencedor, conquistou 4 prêmios nas categorias de curtas.
Organizado pela The International Animated Film Society, o prêmio é o mais importante do mundo das animações para cinema e televisão.
