Family Guy é a primeira animação da história da TV a ser indicada a um prêmio Emmy. A lista acaba de ser anunciada pela Academia de Artes e Ciências Televisivas e transmitida ao vivo pelo canal E! no Brasil.
O anúncio foi feito por Chandra Wilson, de Grey's Anatomy, e Jim Parsons, de The Big Bang Theory, e ambos os atores ganharam indicações aos prêmios aos quais concorriam, o que geralmente acontece com os apresentadores.
Outros destaques vão para a primeira indicação de Simon Baker, como o protagonista de The Mentalist, e a também estréia de Toni Collette por United States of Tara, série produzida por Steven Spielberg e escrita por Diablo Cody que conta a história de uma mulher com múltiplas personalidades. Ainda inédita no Brasil.
Tina Fey conseguiu deixar mais uma marca na História das comédias norte-americanas. 30 Rock bateu na manhã desta quarta-feira, dia 15, o recorde de indicações para uma série cômica para o Emmy desde a criação do prêmio, o mais importante da televisão dos Estados Unidos. Seu nome está impresso 22 vezes na lista deste ano. O seriado dramático Mad Men vem na sequência, com 16.
A 61º cerimônia de entrega dos Emmy acontecerá em Los Angeles em 20 de setembro e terá transmissão ao vivo.
